The press freeing the migrants
«If there are people who believe they can more speedily achieve their purpose, i.e. freeing a nation from its political yoke through the press, why shouldn't the press help accelerate the liberation of our countrymen from a slavery much more harmful?» (Scalabrini, Letter to Card. G. Simeoni, February 16th, 1887).
The mass media are an indispensable tool to broadcast the Scalabrinian voice around the world. To announce God's Kingdom to migrants, the Congregation utilizes the modern means of communication as the appropriate instrument to fulfil its mission and to alert the receiving Church and comminity of the existence of migrants.
Federation of the Scalabrinian Press
The Federation of Scalabrinian Press has been constituted in order to group together printing media of various nature and size (from parish bulletins, to research magazine), radio, and TV broadcasts.
The first Convention of media operators was held at the Mother House, in Piacenza, in October 2004 (see photograph).
