The Superior General and his Council were elected on February 2nd, 2007 in the course of the XIII General Chapter of the Congregation celebrated in Rome, Italy.
Their term of office: 2007 - 2013.

A team that is the fruit of community discernment

An intercultural team of missionaries originating from the Scalabrinian Communities of Brazil, Italy, Mexico and Portugal, with pastoral and linguistic experience in the various fields of the Mission in all Continents, elected by the XIII General Chapter in Rome, Italy, on February 2nd, 2007, Feast of the Presentation of Our Lord.

"The ethnic, cultural, and religious pluralism strongly summons the Scalabrinian charism and our religious consacration. We are aware that in our communities there are examples of authentic and joyful sharing between different cultures and mentalities. There is a stronger desire to know the Founder. A clearer sense of Scalabrinian identity seems to have emerged from the courses of formation, from the conventions and, most of all, from the centennial anniversary celebrations. The younger vocations are enthusiast about our charism, while a desire to offer a more qualified specific service in the field of the pastoral care for human mobility is ever more felt. Finally, it is worth pointing out the rediscovery of the role of the lay, and of the youth movements in the sharing of our missionary activities..."
