"In the Mass all sacrifices and all acts of worship are wonderfully combined and epitomized. In fact, the sacrifice of the Mass is at once adoration, thanksgiving, propitiation, and intercession. It is adoration because, through it, we offer God a homage of adoration commensurate with his infinite greatness, and we recognize his supreme dominion. It is thanksgiving because, through it, we offer all our gratitude to the divine Goodness for the blessings received. It is propitiation because, through it, we ask of the divine Mercy pardon for our sins and eternal rest for our beloved deceased, at the same time appeasing the divine Justice. Finally, it is intercession because, through it, we ask our Father in heaven for the grace and help we need every day."
(John Baptist Scalabrini, How to Sanctify Holy Days - Pastoral Letter to the Diocese of Piacenza for the Lent of 1904 - February 5, 1904).
Every last Saturday of the month a Mass will be celebrated for the deceased and for all those who support the missionary work.
