Costurando Sonhos (Sewing Dreams), by Sidney Antonio da Silva, São Paulo, Paulinas, 1997.
This is an antropological study about a group of Bolivian immigrants in the city of São Paulo. The book discusses some aspects of their social reproduction, such as: the work in the small and informal textile factories; the problem of undocumentation; the process of stigmatization, because they are from a poor country which sometimes portrayed on television as a country involved in drug trafficking. Aspects concerning their popular religion, such as the devotion to the Virgen Mary, their offerings to the Pachamama (Mother Earth), and to their deads are discussed in detail.
